The growing season in northern Minnesota is short. Seeds started indoors in early May. Plants in the ground the first week of June. Harvest beginning in mid-September, finished a few weeks later depending on light and rain. That brevity is not a constraint we work around. It is a condition we work within — and it shapes everything the plant becomes.
Place shapes plant. Soil biology, water quality, microclimate, and seasonal light are not interchangeable variables.
The same cultivar grown in different soil and water produces a different result. We take that seriously. Our hemp grows in a river valley meadow in northern Minnesota — the proximity to water shapes the soil in ways that matter to cultivation: deeper organic matter, greater moisture retention, a mineral profile that reflects the particular geology of this watershed.

We did not choose this land for marketing reasons. We chose it because the conditions it offers are genuinely favorable for the kind of cultivation we practice — outdoor, compost-fed, seasonally disciplined. This river has been recognized among the cleanest in Minnesota. That quality moves through the water table and into the ground we cultivate.
The land has its own character, and that character is present in the plants it produces. That is not romanticism. It is agronomy.
Healthy soil is not a marketing concept. It is an operational requirement.
The biological activity of soil — its microbial communities, fungal networks, organic matter content, and structural integrity — determines what nutrients are available to a plant, how efficiently the plant accesses them, and how the plant responds to seasonal stress. Compost-based fertility feeds these systems rather than bypassing them.
We build fertility through compost rather than synthetic inputs. No commercial fertilizers. No pesticides. The soil we cultivate in this season should be more biologically active next season. That is a different orientation than optimizing for yield, and it produces different results in the plant's expression of its cannabinoid and terpene profile.

From flower to preparation — what happens after the harvest determines what reaches the bottle.
Harvested flower is dried naturally in a humidity-controlled environment — no artificial heat, no forced drying. The plant material dries to stable moisture content at its own pace. Properly dried flower is stored in vacuum-sealed Mylar bags, which preserve cannabinoid integrity and prevent oxidation and moisture reintroduction until the material goes into extraction.
The extraction follows the same discipline as the cultivation — traditional alcohol maceration, organic cane alcohol, four to six weeks, the whole flower. Nothing that was built through careful cultivation is discarded at the preparation stage.
