Why Traditional Methods

Traditional preparation methods exist because generations of practitioners observed what worked in living systems over long periods of time.

Alcohol tinctures and botanical oil infusions are among the oldest and most studied forms of herbal preparation in human history — not because more sophisticated technology was unavailable, but because these methods consistently preserved the full complexity of the plant in a form the body could absorb and use.

We returned to these methods after studying both the traditional literature and the modern research on extraction science. The conclusion was the same from both directions: methods that respect the whole plant preserve something that reductive processes remove.

The preparation method is constitutive of the preparation itself, not incidental to it.

That is the mechanistic basis for why full-spectrum preparations behave differently from isolates in biological systems — and why we do not use isolates, CO2 extracts, or purchased distillates at any stage.

The Alcohol Tincture Process

Whole-flower maceration. Four to six weeks. Gently agitated. Nothing added.

Hemp flower is submerged in certified organic cane alcohol and left to macerate for four to six weeks. During that time the preparation is gently agitated regularly to draw out the full range of the plant's naturally occurring constituents. When the maceration is complete, the plant material is pressed and the liquid is filtered.

Each batch is tested for cannabinoid concentration before bottling. Batches below stated strength are concentrated through evaporation — removing alcohol only. Batches above stated strength are adjusted with organic cane alcohol. The adjustment materials are the same as the preparation. Nothing foreign enters the bottle.

The Oil Infusion Process

Slow heat. Whole flower. The same whole-plant philosophy as the alcohol tinctures, in an oil medium.

The massage oil's cannabinoid content is prepared through slow heat oil infusion — hemp flower infused directly into carrier oil over time. No CO2 extract. No distillate. No isolate. The infusion process draws out the plant's constituents into the oil medium, producing a preparation with the same whole-plant character as the alcohol tinctures.

The arnica and calendula in the massage oil formula are also infused in-house using the same method — plant material steeped in carrier oil until the botanical constituents are drawn out. These are not purchased extracts. They are prepared here alongside the hemp infusions.

Tocopherols are added at 0.5% for oxidative stability — protecting the unsaturated fatty acids in the sunflower oil carrier from degradation over the product's shelf life.

Quality Control

Batch-tested before bottling. Adjusted to stated strength. Documented.

Every batch is submitted to a third-party laboratory for cannabinoid concentration testing before bottling. The stated concentration on the label reflects the verified content of that specific batch — not an estimate from input material or a general specification. Batches are adjusted to hit the stated strength before any preparation reaches a bottle. Certificates of Analysis are published for every production lot.
